Laura Marcove believes that massage and bodywork help find a balance in the busy pace that we, New Yorkers, tend to set our speeds.
Massage also helps to recover from physical and emotional injuries and trauma. As an athlete, Laura enjoys how massage allows for a greater ability to understand the body and elevate our peak physical performance. She believes massage is a method in balancing the physical body that can carry over to an overall homeostatic lifestyle.
Laura runs marathons, biathlons, taught and practiced yoga for over ten years and is currently completing a Master's in Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. She has also studied Chi Nei Tsang, a Taoist abdominal massage, Tui Na and shiatsu.
Her knowledge of different techniques coupled with her study of Oriental Medicine result in a unique approach that caters to the client and the individual's needs.
Originally from Manhattan, she has lived in Kenya, India and California. When not working she is often planning surf outings, traveling and experimenting in the kitchen.
